Spring Wreath

I recruited my Mom for this project because she just has an eye for floral pieces and I love how it turned out. The color combination just worked so beautifully together! I was inspired by Lindsay's Full Wreath that I found when searching for ideas. She gives a great tutorial that gave us a guideline to start with and then we used our creativity from there.

I hung it a few weeks ago and after a week of being up I noticed a bird had made a nest in the wreath! Can you see the nest in the top left? Don't you think it adds the perfect touch?!

Each day she added one more egg and now there are a total of four!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Fever

It has cooled back down this week compared to the 80 degree weather we were having a few weeks ago. I'm definitely ready to be outside doing more projects, but for now, here is peek of some color I brought indoors!

I will be sharing my spring wreath on Monday. Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Framed Hooks and Knobs

My little sister's new house was finished a few months ago so we have been having fun decorating each room. We decided we needed something fun to hang up coats, purses, scarves, and hats at her entryway! She came up with the idea to use a decorative frame and a few different styles of hooks and knobs for a fun eclectic look.

We went to Hobby Lobby and began looking at the hooks and knobs that had the same style. After picking out five we liked, we then headed to look at frames. We found the perfect frame that matched our hooks! This idea couldn't have come together any easier.

Using the wall color as the backdrop was a new idea and I think it turned out so wonderful! I will soon be sharing more of her house as rooms are finished.

I can't believe I haven't blogged since February! Time has been flying by as usual. I have been up to so many things lately that I haven't had the time to sit down and write. I will be sharing some spring decorating ideas and also my amazing experience attending the class given by Annie Sloan herself! Sorry it has been so long... it seems my projects get done in waves. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Farmer's Egg Crate

I have seen so many fun ways to organize jewelry, but this one caught my eye a few years ago. Anthropologie carries farm egg crates and they work perfectly for organizing my earrings! It is so lovely sitting on my nightstand and prevents losing that one earring!

Or maybe you could actually use it to hold a few farm eggs!

Whichever way you would like to use it... I am just in love! It is also available in aqua blue!

We have been enjoying this spring weather with temperatures in the 50's all week! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. It will be pretty exciting around here since the Super Bowl is hosted just an hour away!

Some Valentine's Love

I can't say I have ever decorated for Valentine's day, but was inspired by Pinterest to surround myself with some lovin!

After seeing this idea on Pinterest, I couldn't wait to make one for myself! I went to Goodwill and found a gold frame for $2 and used my new chalk paint to give it a fresh look. After it was dry, I sanded it in places to reveal the gold. I printed the "I love you because.." on some fun scrapbook paper and it was finished! It was nice to do an easy and fun project in just one evening!

I just had to take some close-up pictures!

Have you been doing any Valentine's Day decorating?!

Lost In Pinterest

Happy Wednesday! We are halfway through the week already! Time has been flying... especially when I'm on Pinterest and realize three days have gone by! I have been so addicted lately. I can't keep from drooling over all of the Christmas decorating ideas and DIY projects.

I will go against my pull towards Christmas and try to stay in fall mode for a few more weeks. This is some of the fall decorating I have done around the house.

Thank you all for stopping by! I loved reading all of the comments on my quote box. It gave me such a motivational boost!

A Linen Wreath

I fell in love with this wreath at Beautiful Nest and decided to head off to the fabric store for some linen! She gives a wonderful tutorial here on how to make it so I won't go into too much detail. I do want to add that I used 4 1/2 yards of fabric. I felt it needed to be full. I also tore my strips at 4 1/2 wide and then folded them at 4 inches.

I added a bit of personal touch with the fabric flowers. I love how each one turned out and the colors go nicely with my bookends in the living room!

I'm hoping of hanging this in an old window frame (which I don't own yet)... Guess I will need to do some antique shopping to find one!

Enjoy your weekend!

Gallery Wall

I have been wanting to do a gallery wall for a long time, but just didn't know where to start. Blogland really gave me the motivation to go for it! I pulled a team together to help, including my Mom and family friend, Rissa.

I began by choosing the pictures I wanted. The key ingredient to a successful gallery is choosing photos that evoke a memory rather than posed pictures. After I had the pictures chosen, I went to thrift stores and found old frames of different colors and sizes. I really enjoyed the hunt!  We also used a few other decorative items to add texture and visual interest.

The jars, vinyl lettering, iron stars, and the "D" were all purchased at Hobby Lobby. The iron candle holder was purchased at Pottery Barn  (yes, I actually bought something from PB... but not without free shipping)! The old shelf was another treasure I found in one of the barns.

After we had all of the pictures and decor items, we laid a blanket down and began to arrange them on the floor. From there, we just began to hang things up. No precise measuring...simply the naked eye.

Hope this inspires you! Have a wonderful day!
